Hi, you are bidding on my daily driver- 2002 Camaro SS. I hate to let it go but I must (the "wifey" is making me). I need the money to save for a house and other wedding expenses.

Background Info- It is black on black, T56 manual transmission, and has just over 98,000 miles on the clock as of today. It came originally with the SLP 345HP Performance Package- which included among others the Auburn 3.42 differential, SLP embroidered floor mats, ZR1 Chrome wheels, and dual center-outlet exhaust. I have done some tasteful modifications to the car, but I do have all the original parts in case you wish to return it to stock form. I bought this car as a daily driver/ project car from my brother in law back in March this year, knowing at the time that it needed some work. I have plenty mechanical experience so it was no issue to me. He had it since it had ~22k miles, never made any modifications to it, and he never raced it (it was his only car).

The car had a hit on the front right fender from a hit-and-run few months prior. It was the last car in a row of 5 cars. My brother-in-law tried to get out of the way but could not in time. The right front corner managed to scoot under the rear bumper of a Ford Explorer. The originators of the accident fled so none of the implicated bothered to call Police for a report. This caused cosmetic damage and not structural damage thankfully. The fender was split, the headlight was pushed back (the brackets that hold it in place were pushed back, I was able to mostly bend them back into place with simple hand tools), and the hood was cracked (it is cosmetic, it is still structurally sound, but because it is fiberglass you cannot simply fix it, it would need to be replaced, I have seen it here on Ebay for $406 shipped). Also at time of purchase the headlights were yellowed, AC and window motors didn't work. Tires were bald, front brakes needed to be replaced. Original engine had slight rod knock upon cold start, front door/ hatch speakers blown (sail panel woofers are perfect), SLP mats stained, rear shocks blown, and driver door hinge make noise at times. This was as of March 09 with ~84,500miles (note- I had changed the water pump on this car prior to me even deciding to buy it, that water pump is just under a year old as of today).

My initial task with the car was to do all the due maintenance and fix the damage from the accident. I replaced the fender but never had time to have a body shop paint it (remember, this was my daily driver). I washed/ claybared/ polished/ waxed the car. Spark plugs, spark plug wires, motor flush and oil change, transmission and differential oils were changed as well. I did an alignment, got new tires, changed front brakes (rears had been changed just prior to my purchasing the car). AC Compressor was changed along with orifice tube, AC system was flushed/ vacuumed out and filled. I tinted the windows to 20% (Miami summers are brutal). I also ported and polished the throttle body. Headlights were also replaced.

My next tast was to change the front door speakers and upgrade the notoriously flex-happy F-body chassis. By the end of May I was done with this. Door speakers were upgraded to Infinity 6.5" 2-ways and they sound amazingly clear with clean mid-bass response. I did not want to lower the whole car, just the front end- not only to get rid of the terrible front fender gap but also because I did not want the rear to bottom out all the time, and also this cut cost as I did not have to buy adjustable suspension components since the rear would remain at factory height. I installed BMR front lowering springs on the original struts (they are good still), the rear I installed Monroe Sensa-Trak shocks along with UMI lower control arms and panhard rod. Also a BMR torque arm was installed, along with the crown jewels- UMI subframe connectors. After this the car was a whole different beast. It felt like a sports car should! The subframe connectors made the car feel solid, the LCAs, torque arm and panhard rod kept the rear in place (like going over a pot hole when making a turn), the front springs kept that front end planted yet still give a surprisingly comfortable ride. No longer does the rear end feel like it needs to catch up to what the front is doing (stock f-body chassis), no more bottoming out when full-throttle, no more nose-diving when braking, ever so fun to drive.

In June I hydrolocked the engine. That same day I got water into the car on the rear section as I had left the floor drain plugs out when I installed my wideband o2 sensor in preparation for tuning. The smell was terrible and I had to cut out the carpet in the rear seat floor and under the rear buckets. I sprayed rubber liner below the car and in these uncovered parts to cut down on the road noise and it worked great. I found a local guy on LS1Tech Forums that was pulling out his LS1 from his 02 Camaro SS (to upgrade to an LS2) with almost the same mileage as mine (~89k at the time). I went to his house to help him remove the motor, it was super clean, held perfect compression, and best of all- no rod knock at all. I took the short-block off of him, as well as a Centerforce pressure plate that he had barely had on when the LS2 came up for grabs. My original 341 heads were perfectly fine, not warped. I had a local machine shop re-deck them, do a 3-angle valve job, and replace all the valve seals, and also re-surface my flywheel. I proceeded to put together the engine (new GM head bolts and MLS head gaskets, as well as a new rear main seal, new thermostat and seal, new water pump seals, and new intake manifold o-rings, and an ARP crank bolt). While I had the engine out I also installed Pacesetter long-tube headers; I also wanted to (for peace of mind) go ahead and change the alternator and starter motor, and the annoying AIR system was deleted. An ES urethane transmission mount was put in at this time. The engine feels great! super strong, yet I get 26mpg on my highway cruises to Tampa and Orlando. The car dynoed 333whp/ 343whp SAE. Since this I have added a Volant Cold Air Intake. Note that I never changed the catback. After the off-road y-pipe, the exhaust is stock. It growls at full-throttle, yet it is still civilized and quiet for cruising and idling.

There are still some things that it needs. The passenger window motor needs to be changed (it is stuck in the closed position), the AC has developed a super slow leak somewhere- I added 1 can after 2 months of noticing lower system pressures (I have AC gauges at home), motor mounts may need replacing (at full-throttle in low gears the driver header collector hits the floor pan). New IAC valve as well. Also, I think that this Centerforce pressure plate requires a shim installed (I say that because the transmission shifts perfectly fine, but ever since I put this clutch in, sometimes I cant shift into the next gear when shifting at redline, sometimes yes other no. I think it's just a clutch-shim issue which is a simple fix). The rest is cosmetics- the hood, fender, carpet, driver seat developed a tear over the last 3months, and it needs sun visors. Also the driver door hinges still make noise sometimes.

Carfax report is clean, only shows one notice for a Lien, which is from when my brother-in-law bought the car and had a loan for it. When I bought it I went with him to the lender to pay off the Lien, and when the title came in with the lien-released stamp he signed over the title to me. So I have the title, clean and clear, at hand, ready to go.

As of right now, the car has 98,084 miles. Of course it increases as it is my daily driver. I will park it next week when I get my new car. I too never raced the car, but I did dyno it, and would do a seldom for-fun pull on the highway if it was empty. I hate to let it go and I know I will be wanting to buy it back in a few years if I can track it down, but as of right now this is what I have to do.
