Car Notes
2007.12.14 Ebay

Cocoa, Florida, United States

For sale is a 2000 Chevrolet Camaro SS with a STS Turbo system. This car has been pampered since I purchased it in Nov. 2000. It has been garaged kept both at home and at work. The turbo has added tremendous bottom end torque and top end horsepower. It starts to spool at roughly 2,200 RPM, and is full boost by 3,500 (depending on load). Please be aware, this car is for off-use only, and it has no catalytic converts or other pollution devices.
The reason I am selling my baby is because we just had twin real babies. Gotta get rid of my prized car and can’t fit the whole family in it. It has been garaged for a couple of months, and the Turbo system has only been on for about a year. Being in Florida, it has never seen snow.
Camaro from factory:
6-speed manual transmission
Original Black leather
Original Black paint 17” rims with 275/40 Kumho tires
Fog lights
T-tops
Remote keyless
CD player

Add-ons, etc.:
STS turbo system
Bought EBC to add more boost, but wasn't installed. Will provide when purchased.
SLP long tube tuned headers
Custom tune (spark, fuel map,VE, etc.)
Ford SVO 30 injectors to make equivalent 36 lb/hr injectors
Cross-drilled brakes
S.S. front brake lines
Short stick shifter
Upgraded (thicker) rear sway bar
Front strut tower brace
160 degree thermostat
Sony XPlode 1,000 watt amplifier
Sony XPlode 1,100 watt stealth subwoofer
White faced gauges
Rear differential cover with larger capacity and bearing supporters
EGR blocked off
Race pipes (in place of catalytic converters)
TR-55 spark plugs
Removed “skip-shift” feature from tuning

This car has always run fully synthetic 10w30 motor oil (came from factory with it also) so it should have little engine wear. Transmission has be rebuilt a year ago (bent shift fork – 2000 model had weaker aluminum version). Also, the custom tune is for me and my location. It is highly advised to retune the car for your own driving habits and location/elevation!
Now for the issues: Air conditioning hardware works awesome, but has a small leak somewhere. I have needed it to be refilled every couple of months.
I enjoy the white faced gauges, but the gauges are actually for a LT1 camaro, so high beam and the change oil lights do not work properly.
A white vehicle rubbed up against the rear bumper (pictured) and it needs to be buffed out. There are also some minor dings on car.
The long tube headers burned the wires for the low oil light, so the dash always shows that their is low oil. The car has never run low on oil as I pay careful attention to that weekly. The two wires need to be rerun from the oil pan to the wiring harness.
There is two options for connecting the STS turbo oil pump, one way is to tap your fuel injector wires, and the other is to connect it to a power wire connected to the ignition. I didn’t feel comfortable having it spliced to the injector wiring, so I opted for the ignition. So…when the key is in ignition, there is a pump noise from the oil pump you need to be aware of.
